HVSF is a member-managed seed capital fund, comprised of successful business and community leaders who invest time and resources to support the region's entrepreneurial ecosystem. The fund provides seed funding, mentorship, and connections for local entrepreneurs, while delivering investment returns to our members. We are a catalyst to strengthen the path for entrepreneurs in the region, and support a vibrant, thriving local economy.

Collaborating with local players including academic institutions, local economic development groups, and other organizations to provide access to additional capital and resources for growing companies.
Strengthening the startup ecosystem beyond investment, leveraging our members' diverse backgrounds and skills to mentor, connect and promote the Hudson Valley entrepreneurial community.
Our organization is managed by 5 founding managers and supported by the experienced founders of Eastern New York Angels (ENYA).
Johnny collaborated with Tony to engage intitial prospective investors and assembled the HVSF management team. The first investor in HVSF, Johnny is passionate about filling the need for local Hudson Valley access to capital for high-growth potential companies. After 8 years at AOL in software quality assurance during the birth of the consumer internet, Johnny founded CLUBWAKA, now the industry-leading national social sports company. Johnny is active in several founder communities, including the Business Owners Council of NY, and he provides HVSF an invaluable growth-company founder's perspective.
Paul brings in-depth business development, operating experience and financing for businesses to HVSF. He is a life-long serial entrepreneur and Hudson Valley resident with strong ties to the community and economic development efforts. The Managing Partner of Pioneer Capital Group, Paul's expertise includes managing complex financial transactions and developing strategic partnerships.
Chad is a global business consultant formerly with Katzenbach Partners and Booz & Company, consumer products entrepreneur, and Wharton MBA graduate. Chad brings a wealth of strategy, implementation and team development expertise to HVSF and the entrepreneurs we support.
Noa is former partner at TD Growth Capital and entrepreneur, Noa has significant institutional venture capital and early-stage start-up experience. She mentored with a Battery Ventures GP for nearly a decade, and co-leads screening and due diligence. She is a co-founder of Community Compost Company, a Hudson Valley-based food waste/organics recycling and soil products company.
Tony established the vision for the fund, and connected with Eastern New York Angels (ENYA) of the Capital Region to attract early investors for a fund focused on the Hudson Valley. Tony is Managing Director of the Global Center for Social Entrepreneurship Network (GCSEN). He is a former IBM employee, software entrepreneur and Marist executive, and is well connected with the region's business and economic development community.
